I pay my heartfelt respect to the people and ancient culture of the Widjable/Wiyable people of the Bundjalung Nation. I acknowledge that I live and paint on country, where sovereignty was never ceded.

 

I pledge to stand in solidarity with indigenous people's fight to take back their sovereign rights, learn about indigenous culture and the unraveling issues within the modern landscape.

Especially:

• the increase in uncorporatised indigenous leadership and learning how to heal and care for country and culture

​

• to seek more stories, art and cultural education to be a part of the mainstream education

​

 

• and everything in between
